Week 94 - "You... go... to... sleep!" *snoring noises*

Hello, everyone! The quote's from John Goodman's Sully in   Monsters Inc.  I was trying to think of something that had to do with this week, and I thought of that moment where he says this, and then Boo chuckles a little and then just zonks out. We've been going pretty hard, and this is one of those weeks where preparation day came a few days later than usual, and in the past 36 hours I've probably napped for about 5 or 6. Well, I'm staying in Youngstown as a social media specialist, and Elder Washburn and I are staying together! There are a lot of great things about that. I love being Elder Washburn's companion, I've loved serving in Youngstown, and I've loved being a Social Media Specialist, but I'm also a little unsure about how we're going to spend our time this transfer. We as a mission were recently told by President Horgesheimer that considering we're still in Phase 1 we're actually not supposed to be going out and doing street con...

Week 93 - "My word is my bond." "Yeah, JUNK bond..."

Hey, everyone! The quote this week is from Robin Williams' Peter Banning and his son, Jack (who's played by an actor I can't remember the name of) in  Hook . The reason for the quote is that we had an AWESOME Sunday devotional last night: So President has been doing these weekly devotionals where he invites guests to speak to us. Basically it's people he and Sister Horgesheimer know who are motivational speakers, and they join a mission-wide Zoom call and talk to us about their experiences in the gospel and the scriptures and things that they've learned and so forth. Last night the guest speaker was Brit Covey, who's a football player for U of U. He spoke about something I thought was fascinating: He talked about how whenever things got really challenging when he was serving a mission he would basically pray and tell the Lord, "OK, Lord, I'm not going to go back inside or finish working tonight until _________ [we find someone to tea...

Week 92 - "Homer, you're a tough kid, but you gotta know when to quit."

Hey, everyone! It's been a pretty good week this week. We've done a lot on the social media side of things, though I feel a little like we've been neglecting our area. We've been trying to balance things, but it's been a little hectic, and it often feels like we're together but doing different work. For instance, I've been editing together a lot of videos (we're trying to educate our zone in fun and engaging ways so they won't ignore it, and also teach by example, how to make good content), and I've also been doing some other things that only one person can really do, and then Elder Washburn has been doing contacting and finding content and setting up posts and so forth. We should probably have a day where we coordinate more and make sure we know what each other is doing and so forth. It would be good to see if there's any way we can help each other or work smarter. In other news, I've been sick the past couple of days. Nothin...
